FAQs

Why can't I select local pickup or delivery?

Local pickup/delivery is eligible for residents of Calgary and Vancouver, if the product they've selected is stocked in their city. All of our product descriptions include a note about where the product is stocked. Unfortunately due to website restrictions, you cannot place an order with multiple items from different stocks and still select local pickup. Please place a separate order for the item you would like to pick up locally.

I've placed my order. When will my item be available for local pickup?

Your item will be available for local pickup within 2-4 days and will be held for 5 days. Please contact us if you are unable to pick up the item in the designated time frame and we will arrange a different day to drop it off.

What kind of packaging do you use?

It's not easy being green, but we're trying -- and always improving! We currently use 100% compostable mailers, eco-friendly stickers and tissue paper, and recyclable cardboard boxes.

Do you clean the items beforehand?

To maintain the condition of the pieces we do not wash them. However, we give each piece a thorough steaming and a spritz with natural anti-bacterial fabric freshener. If you are allergic to scents, please add this note when you go to order.
We always try to include fabric information on our items when we know for sure what the material is. If you are unsure how to care for your garment, don't hesitate to send us a message and we'll do our best to help.

I want to know what decade a vintage piece is from.

If you'd like to inquire about the approximate date of a piece, please feel free to send us an email and we will do our best to give you an estimate.

Why don't you have more pieces in my size?

We do our best to source pieces in as many sizes as possible. However, our stock is at the mercy of what we stumble upon when we go hunting for new pieces, so it's not always easy to ensure equal representation of sizes. We're always searching high and low for new pieces to ensure everyone can find a garment they love!

What qualifies as "vintage?"

Our vintage pieces range from the 1940s (like some of our purses) to the 1990s. Yes, the 90s are considered vintage now -- time is going by too quickly!

I'm not happy with my purchase (size, fit, imperfections, etc.)

We want to make sure everyone loves their new purchase, and we know that ordering online can be tricky. However, due to the more delicate nature of vintage and secondhand pieces, we cannot offer returns or refunds. We strongly encourage you to email us with any questions you might have about a piece before you place your order. However, if you have any concerns or questions after you've received your items, we'd still be more than happy to chat with you about it and explore some options. Please email us at contact@truceclothing.com any time.
